1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use any-web.uk, the ANY-Village websites or ANY-Domains, and when you list your business, buy a listing boost, buy a domain name or lease a domain name from us.
"We", "us" and "ANY-Web" mean ANY-WEB LIMITED, registered in England and Wales with company number 03730786, whose registered office is at 16 Broad Street, Eye, Suffolk IP23 7AF, United Kingdom. "You" means the person or business using our sites or buying from us.
Our refund and cancellation policy and privacy and cookies policy form part of these terms.
2. Using our websites
Our sites are provided for general information. Local information on ANY-Village sites comes from public sources such as Ordnance Survey, the Office for National Statistics and HM Land Registry. We work to keep it accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete or free from errors, and you should not rely on it for decisions that matter without checking it.
ANY-Village sites are independent. They are not run by, or affiliated with, the parish councils or local authorities of the places they cover.
The design and content of our sites belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may view, print and share pages for your own use. You must not copy our sites in bulk, use automated tools to collect their content, or try to disrupt them.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.
3. Orders and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Each price says whether VAT is included; where it is not, VAT is added at the current rate.
Payment is by card through Stripe, our payment provider. Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email. We send you a receipt or VAT invoice for each payment.
Monthly services, such as listing boosts and domain name leases, are billed in advance and renew automatically each month until you cancel. If a payment fails, we may pause the service until it is paid.
4. Trade listings on ANY-Village
A free listing shows your business name, trade and town. A boost moves your listing to the top of your trade and shows it larger, with your phone number, email address and website. You can ask us to remove a free listing at any time.
You must be a genuine business offering the trade you list, and the details you give must be accurate and not misleading. You are responsible for them and for the website you link to.
We confirm your email address and phone number, and check that your website is safe, before a listing goes live. We may refuse or remove a listing that is inaccurate, misleading or used to break the law. If we refuse a boost, we refund you in full; if we remove a boosted listing for one of these reasons, we do not refund the rest of that month.
We sell one county boost per trade in each county. Where several businesses have village boosts for the same trade on a site, they take turns at the top. We decide the layout of our pages, and we do not guarantee a number of views, calls or enquiries.
5. Buying a domain name
When you buy a domain name, we transfer it to you. For .uk names the transfer goes through Nominet, and once it is complete you are the registrant, with your own contract with Nominet on its terms. From then on, renewing the name is your responsibility.
If we cannot complete the transfer, we refund you in full. Once the transfer is complete, the sale is final.
6. Leasing a domain name
A lease lets you use a domain name for your website and email while we stay its registered owner. Leases are billed monthly in advance and you can cancel at any time; the lease ends at the end of the month you have paid for.
You must not use a leased name for anything unlawful, for spam, or in a way that harms the name's reputation. If you do, or if you do not pay, we may end the lease after giving you notice by email.
When a lease ends, the name stops pointing to your website and email, and we may lease or sell it to someone else.
7. Cancellations and refunds
How to cancel, and when you are entitled to a refund, is set out in our refund and cancellation policy. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
8. Email and spam
You must not use any service, domain name or email address you get from us to send unsolicited marketing email. We may suspend or end a service that is used for spam.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
If you are a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or data, or for any indirect loss. Our total liability to a business for any claim is limited to the amount it paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please tell us. Our complaints process is set out on our contact page.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page applies from the date shown at the top. If a change affects a monthly service you have with us, we email you before it takes effect.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
